Do you care enough to see...

In the fall months, with changing weather and beautiful scenes pleasing to the eyes one would think the streets would be filled with people. We've been locked in our house like naughty children banished to time out for the better part of two years. While some got into home improvement, game night with the family or even took up new hobbies others silently sunk into an unhealthy state of depression. The truth of the matter is since the pandemic bouts of depression are on the rise. In a March 2022 article of the New York Post writer Julio Musto cites the WHO (World Health Organization) the rise of depression is up 25 % since the first year of the pandemic. (Musto, 2022).
The world as we know it is no more, we've heard the new normal, two weeks to flatten the curve and how we are being kind to the earth all as an elaborate culling of the global population. As the world went on business as usual is no more, now on the brink of War, the cost of living thru the roof, and our savings rapidly dwindle, if depression stared you in the face would you know you were looking at him? Depression has many faces and spares no one person. The world in the throes of unparallel chaos and the vast majority of society linger like zombie in a pandemic stupor as we mindlessly walk into a perpetual state of auto pilot.
All of the aforementioned and others we don't see are a red carpet to a state of depression. Family I am on my soapbox today. I see, hear, and feel the despair in a great number of people from all walks of life, all age demographics and in my own family. I am writing this short blog to point out some of the warning signs of depression. I will share with you my non-medical tips to help you stay in dominion of your mind. If you take my challenge your body can reaps the healthy benefits, and you will find yourself pulling your head up and looking to the sun for a better day.
So, let's talk about depression, most of us have loosely used the term in casual conversation about being depressed. In reality depression is NOT a joking matter and should not be taken lightly. If you, your friends, and or family mentions depression you might take them at their word as often we are such a self-indulged society, we can't see past our own needs to recognize signs sometimes resulting in devastating endings.
Have you ever asked yourself do you even know how to recognize depression if it stared you in the face? If you can't recognize depression, how do you check in with your friends, family and colleagues to understand when the warning signs are screaming at you. Let's take a look at some recognizable signs of depression, now I need to call you all out on this one....you have to give two shit's about someone to care enough to actually PAY ATTENTION.
Warning signs of depression
Withdrawal of social activities, in simple terms the life of the party stays in the house and likely stops posting on social media.
Anger, the normally mild manner happy person is pissed off all the time and for unknown reasons they don't want to talk about.
Sleep changes in sleep pattern to oversleep or inability to sleep.
Work changes in habits or poor performance at work.
Irritability for no known reasons, and frequently
Drug and alcohol abuse
Energy low or none
Thinking, the inability to concentrate or dangerous thoughts.
Guilt often more frequently observed and experienced by women.
Eating, poor appetite or craving you normally would not eat and obsessive amounts.
Pain, frequent headaches and or muscle aches in the absence of injury.

This is not an exhaustive list just some of the more common and easier to recognize. The key to these signs are they come seemingly out of nowhere and they linger for a good while without resolution. Some people who are depressed spiral faster than others and are unable to bring themself out of this poor state of health. The red flags are when these persons start having suicidal thoughts or in some cases make comments about hurting others.
Do not rationalize this person's actions, if this is not the normal behavior of the person you know well and love it is past time to intervene.
Risks factors

Persons who suffer from depression have no specific race and or ethnic background, anyone can suffer from depression. It is said women are diagnosed with depression at twice the rate of men according to (Healthline, 2022). Women experience drastic weight loss, cry for no known reason, suffer guilt, feel unworthy, have drastic mood swings, think suicidal thoughts, feel inadequate and lose focus quickly. Leading factors for depression in women are the following:
menstruation
childbirth
menopause
pregnancy
Regardless the gender depression is real and those suffering from depression are crying out for help regardless how often help is declined. Social media plays a big factor in depression in young women. The need to be "liked," at a very pivotal change in the life of a young woman is tantamount to her perceived role in society. In my opinion the "tween years," unfortunately rear her ugly heads and bad behaviors emerges in the quest for social acceptance.
The WHO suggest 1 in 20 persons in the world are now suffering from depression. (JD Smiley, 2022). These numbers are significant given the population of the world at the time of this writing is estimated as 7.9 billion that is almost 400 million depressed souls in the world.
Social media obviously has its place in society however according to the study published in
Medical News Today, "increased (SMU) may increase the risk of developing depression for certain personality characteristics." To read more about this fascinating phenomenon click the links below.
Why is this important you may ask...when our children are being coxed to morph their bodies before understanding the capacity to truly accept the gravity of morphing. The miseducation and misinformation of the reality of the plandemic of the last several years. The hate spewed from Neo-feminist, the far right winged, the looney far left winged, and all the birds of the same feather in the upcoming midterm (s)elections. The fear porn from every angle, all the time, one must wonder how many people are silently suffering with depression. The unaccounted for strong silent types no one calls on because everyone is busy with the business of trying to make it to their next day.
How many families and friends are at odds ends on who can come to the next family function due to the great jabbing war of 2020-2022 in spite of pharma executives' latest revelations. Who do you know that you have NOT heard from in a while that you were TOO BUSY to check on lately?
The lack of CARE, the lack of integrity, the overall lack in interest of anything and anyone outside of self a scary road, a real slippery slope. So, what do we do about it you might ask. Well, I say turn off the tell a lie to your vision entrainment device. Stop watching the not so real housewives of whatever location and let's be real do you really want to be on the bachelor or the bachelorette.... the low frequency energy from those shows alone will send you into a state of depression.
Tune into SELF, find something that resonates with you, something that makes your heart sing, raises your energy and gives YOU purpose. Napoleon Hill talks about a phenomenon coined "Hypnotic Rhythm," in his highly controversial book from 1937 called Outwitting the Devil. Hypnotic rhythm can be used to benefit oneself by simply taking back control of your mind.
Stop DRIFTING, Hill describes drifting as, a habit of relinquishing control of one's mind to another person or force.
In Yoga you have a powerful tool called Meditation, meditation in this Yogi's opinion is the best use of hypnotic rhythm. Meditations is a better way to take control of your own mind. Sit with yourself and learn how to focus your mind, body, and spirit into something greater than your ego so you can overcome the Devil in you. G.A. Gaskill writes in his book the Dictionary of all Scriptures and Myths, "A symbol of the illusory principle of evil." Gaskill is talking about "the devil," pg. 216 we tend to think of the proverbial "devil," society profess to be free thinkers yet in reality we are programmable sheep. Gaskill further writes "the tempting Not-Self which is opposed to the True Self.

I like to think of depression as the inverse of your higher spirit, we've all heard the term as above so below, depression in my opinion is the physical expression of the lower self, acting badly. I am not a doctor; however, I understand metaphysics. I am not an advocate of pharmacology I don't judge either it is a necessary evil.
I will say this, YOGA and Meditation saved my life. Don't become a drifter, and if you are drifting this is a technique, I offer you to help you find a path back to balance. "Yoga is a journey in mindfulness, expressed thru the body in motion and the breath." (Spirit, 2017).
You want a way to calm those thoughts of self-doubt, worthlessness, and pain...DISCLAIMER... follow the direction of your health care provider I'm just saying put in some work. Only you can decide to take back your control, only you have the power for a new beginning, ONLY YOU can take this journey.
I'm only required to make the information available to you. In the movie the Matrix, the Oracle says to Neo, "We can never see past the choice we don't understand." You already made the choice now you are trying to understand "Why."

Here is my challenge for you should you DARE to accept...it's only your life at stake. Pull out the mirror and look at your own reflection. Don't cheat look into your eyes and tell yourself YOU ARE WORTHY.
Until next time,
Namaste
~Spirit~
